DITA Eyewear- Must Have

The sunshine might be fading, but that doesn't mean that your sunglasses have too...And you won't want to be refusing yourself of these shades by the brand DITA anyway. These vintage inspired designs are created by two lifelong friends, Jeff Solorio and John Juniper, who were inspired by the 50's era right up to the 80's. Not only is it a bonus that each frame is unique; as they are all handcrafted in Japan, boasting the finest materials such as; titanium, 18k gold, white gold and zyl acetates, Celebrities such as Mary- Kate and Ashley Olsen, Kate Hudson, Dita Von Teese and Eva Mendez all have them as there new cherished accessory. Personally, I couldn't care less that the sun isn't shining, as these stylish shades are set to be the stand out piece of any outfit!....Oh and of course it is a benefit to own a little something that the Olsen twins also have in their handbags.

Below are some shots of me wearing a couple of the hot new shades? Let me know what you think

The Sidewalk is your Runway

Want to see a fashion show? Well that's not a problem, because there are many occurring on the grey stoned footpath on a street near you
It's always nice to take time out to sit and just relax, and watch as the world keeps moving along... and that is what I enjoy doing; literally. I find it intriguing to park myself with caffeine on tap, and observe the street traffic that passes me by. I am often finding myself getting distracted from the glossy magazine or novel that I am supposed to be transfixed in and examining the finer details of various styles of dress on women and men that are on a mission to get to their next chosen destination. Just the other day my mother ran to the aid of a little old lady who tripped and fell while crossing the road. The beautiful woman was stylishly dressed, in a cream, tweed skirt suit, entwined with a collar of pearls and beige kitten heels; did made an impact on our day. She was just stunning and lucky for her she was blessed with only a small rip in her neutral coloured stockings. A few coffees or so later, mum and I found ourselves imagining the life this gentlewoman has lived (family? career? where was she from? grandchildren? A 'Notebook movie' style love story? etc.) Mystery lies in everybody. Not only is it fascinating to wonder where people are heading or what it is there life involves, its tantalizing to see such a variety of fashion styles; which in turn relates to that particular individual.  Women and men march on in finely structured, pin-striped business attire. A lady is immaculately dressed in cream tailored trousers, a cashmere beige sweater, accompanied by a mulberry Piccadilly oak bag to match her Bayswater low sandals. A bunch of school girls linger in there 'tarted' up school uniforms, that you just know would earn them a detention when they returned to the land of timetables and lockers. Jeans with the crutch sagging to the knees, which leaves you comprehending as to weather or not you should just offer the individual your hard earned cash to buy a pair in their actual size! Sharp-shouldered masculine blazers, feminine pastel coloured floaty dresses, chaotic tussled mains, denim cut offs and black ankle pixie boots are all making an appearance on the sidewalk. Like the majority of things in life, you see your good attire and your bad, however at the end of the day it shows just how diverse individuals are in there manner of exhibiting themselves. Regardless of the fact that not everyone craves fashion like you and I, everyone makes a conscious (well most of the time) decision about what it is that they are going to be wearing to cover their naked flesh. So next time you are seeking the pleasure of sipping on your nice, strong latte; lose yourself in the fashion show that is being played out before your eyes, with the models being your everyday commuters. There will be a lot of pieces that will erupt that thought in your mind of "what the hell was she thinking?" You can also gather inspiration and appreciate the fact that we are all different and same goes with our wardrobes...Just like that famous quote goes, 'Everyday is a fashion show. The world is your runway!'

Richard Nicoll for Sportsgirl

Tonight Sportsgirl launched their collaboration range with London based designer Richard Nicoll. Fashion Conscious Sportsgirl’s could get there affordable Nicoll pieces in store as of yesterday, however tonight the fabulous designer who is also sponsored by Topshop, was there himself to discuss his exciting new range. The event which was hosted by the lovely Miss Kate Waterhouse (amazing!), who knows her fare share about fashion, was held at Sportsgirl's flagship Sydney Pitt St store. Models took to the Minnie love heart covered runway, while Nicoll discussed each garment in detail. The laid back Australian raised designer, who has dined with the likes of Vivienne Westwood, is proud to be working with Sportsgirl because it is such an 'iconic Australian brand.' He also enjoys being able to appeal to a 'younger demographic' with more affordable pieces, than his own collection offers.  Masculine fabrics and feminine tailoring are clear, with the mixture of structured shirts, playsuits and fitted trousers. The 9 piece capsule; which mainly consists of separates, sports juxtaposing elements with hounds tooth tailoring, thin stripes, and checks. The heart motives, bows, and short skirting add a sense of fun and quirkiness to the silhouettes. This is of course contrasted with the boyish tailored suiting and bomber jackets which create that sharp, Richard Nicoll edge. The designs are beautiful and it’s hard to pick a stand out piece, as they all fit in together and are all relevant. If you haven't raced to a Sportsgirl store already, I suggest you do so. It's not every day you get to have such a remarkable designers garments in your wardrobe for such a low price.
How will you wear your Richard Nicoll?

Abbey Lee Kershaw Russh Magazine

Abbey Lee and her New York based band; Our Mountain have an eight page spread in the new issue of Russh magazine. Band members include Abbey Lee on percussion and keys. Mathew Hushinson on lead guitar. Daniel Hallpike on the bass and Michael Noonan on the drums. The editorial which is involved around a rock and roll/groupie inspired theme is filled vintage looking images, portraying an effortless and grungy type of style. I am lusting over Abbey's leopard print coat. The Russh April issue also showcases the amazing supermodel Jessica Stam as the cover girl.
