CBGB party

Set in an eerie 1800's former goal, a mass brand played host to a CBGB themed bash, for their annual private party. The CBGB was located in lower Manhattan and was the original home to punk and art rock in the 1970's. It provided inspiration for hardcore rockers all around the world, including Patti Smith, The Ramones, Blondie, and Sonic Youth. Tuesday Night, guests got a minuscule glimpse into the former clubs rock world, with a live band, cocktails served in old beer bottles, posters of rock legends situated on the cold stone prison walls and merchandise available.

A purple/ Gothic theme, models with dip dyed hair and extreme dark kohl eyes, Prada's show at Milan Fashion Week was dark and feminine, with a number of contrasting prints.

Tonight was the launch of a new Australian Denim label; McQUEEN. Strongly inspired by actor Steve McQueen, who was otherwise known as, 'The King of Cool,' the 'denim & leather' party was thrown at District 01; an underground space on Oxford St. With Tequila all around, a live band, models with flash lights and a graffiti wall, my friends at Door121 put together an enjoyable evening. Prior to the event, this Afternoon was spent with a book in hand and my best friend by my side, baking on the beach. Due to this factor, I was in a rather relaxed mood, so I opted for my Sass and Bide 'Humble Beginnings' tailored pants and a loose-fitting tank.

Last night, was a celebration of Australian designers at the 'Walk of Style' event in Paddington. A red carpet was laid out along the stone side walk, whilst guests sipped on champagne and raspberry cocktails, in honour of some of our most talented and successful fashion identities. 5 plaques were revealed; featuring the names of Collette Dinnigan, R.M Williams, the late Mark Keighery of Marcs, Akira Isogawa and Heidi Middleton and Sarah- Jane Clarke from Sass and Bide. The bronze plaques will be a permanent feature in the Eastern Suburb shopping precinct.

You lead a busy life between travelling, modeling and blogging, so what motivates you?
I am living my dream, so I am 100 percent motivated. I do have days where I am like "what am I doing? I'm getting older etc…." But I think when you have a dream and you are a determined person, you just push yourself and do everything you can to succeed.

What or who do you find inspiring?
I think that everybody has something in them that you can find inspiring. My Mum is such a hard-worker, so caring and would do anything for anybody. She has always been my inspiration.
Also, there are my friends. I am so lucky to be surrounded by such talented individuals. They all inspire me in their own way.
Then of course there are the style icons and muses; Edie Sedgewick (of course), Kate Moss, the Olsen Twins, Patti Smith, Rachel Zoe, Nicole Richie, Andy Warhol etc.
Anna Dello Russo is amazing also and I was lucky enough to meet her in New York and she is so inspiring.

What would we find in your handbag?
Hmm…my phone (but that is usually attached to the palm of my hand, I am always on it.
My Marc Jacobs wallet, which was a purchase in New York.
MAC lipstick (myth and creme sheen)
My diary which is vital for my events and meetings and I also love to fill it will little inspirational quotes and magazine cutouts.
Headphones, a number of scrunched up receipts (I really need to clean them out!)
My apartment keys.

Can you leave us with some 'words of wisdom'?
You'll never get anywhere just sitting on the couch, agonising and wanting things to happen.
You need to get out there, whether it be pack up your things and move like I did. You just need to go out there and get it and live it.

Industry insiders got a sneak peak of the pieces from each of the gifted designers and I was blown away by the diverse amount of talent which was displayed. All the hard work that the finalists endured sure has paid off, as their collections will hit the runway on Tuesday March the 13th at LMFF.

I recently was approached by the Australian fashion chain, Bardot, to be their guest blogger. After pulling a selection of pieces from their current range, my team and I put together this shoot on a secluded beach in Sydney. By mixing printed pieces and contrasting patterns, I was able to create a carefree and relaxed look, which demonstrates a laid back and modern fashion forward take on Australian style. Set against a costal scene, this enhances the fresh and bold style of Bardot. I am pleased that the Bardot team are thrilled with the final results, which I have included above. I am sure that many of you can deeply relate to Miss Carrie Bradshaw's famous quote, 'I like my money where I can see it. Hanging in my closet.' With New Years resolutions all fresh and on target, I really should be starting to save my pennies and change the 'closet' phrase to bank statement! However, it seems that this over-used, already tried (and failed) resolution seems to fly away when walking into a store, as quick as the shop assistant can ask, 'cheque, savings or credit?" Whilst recently on a mission to conquer another New Years goal, to move out with some friends, I was inspecting a new apartment. Forget the fabulous city views and the spacious kitchen; my automatic reaction was to do a 'closet check' and to envision how my growing collection would look in there. I am not sure about you, but I believe that your wardrobe is such a personal space and is where I spend a lot of my time at home, even though we do share a love/hate relationship. Some days, I am at war, sifting through the coat hangers, not being able to find a single thing to wear (sounds ridiculous!) Though, the majority of the time it does bring me great pleasure. So, here is a little sneak peek into my closet/wardrobe. Sorry, but no, you will not have a 'fashion-gasm' like you did when Mr Big introduced Carrie to hers....hopefully one day!

On Christmas eve, I boarded an early flight from Sydney back to my home town, to spend my Christmas with what I believe this time of year is all about; My family. I was fortunate enough to be brought up, always celebrating beautifully, on this one day of the year where it is acceptable to be a child again. My whole family are very traditional when it comes to the festive season; Santa sacks, milk and cookies, carols by candlelight, chocolate advent calendars, Christmas light looking, plum pudding and breakfast, lunch and dinner with all the fine trimmings; so Christmas for me has always been 'the most wonderful time of the year'. I admit this year however, that I was heading for the Grinch's side of town, though when I returned to the comfort of my own family home on Christmas eve and saw the beautifully decorated tree, the sacks set out for Santa's stop over and of course my extremely excited mother, I returned to my usual 'Lucy-lou' (from Whoville) self. For Christmas lunch here, I am wearing a cropped Topshop tee, which was a purchase when visiting the Melbourne store launch the other week, A POLdesign vibrant red maxi skirt, which is ever s comfortable and my new Jeffrey Campbell amazing shoes, which the Santa made his elves purchase from solestruck.com...I hope you had a Merry Christmas!

On route to the airport to board a plane back home, Simon and I were warned that the Weather in Sydney was rather gloomy, but we just could not possibly dress for warmth when it was 30 degrees in Melbourne today. Simon sported his new Topman purchases and I opted for my old Topshop suede shorts, which I admit I do live in! They are just so soft and comfortable and are just the right length. I have been searching high and low for another pair which hosts the same style, but I just can not seem to find some that I love as much as these. I threw on my Zimmermann, over sized striped tee and my Sportsgirl 'bow back' hat and we were set for our few hours of Sunshine! Also, check out this ring that I brought from the Topshop launch last night....It is insane!

It was rather strange last night, not having to take a jacket out with me, because unlike Sydney lately, it was such a warm and balmy night down in Melbourne for the Topshop Australia launch. Whilst roaming around Paddington the other afternoon, I was in my own world, most likely checking my emails, when my friend Zoe suddenly came to a halt and pointed out some Jewellery in the store, Born In June's window display. That was when I fell in love with this intensely hued, high waisted skirt by Ave, which boasts geometric shapes, creating a 3D effect. Taking advantage of the humid evening, I paired the skirt with this beautiful black leather, light weight Shakuhachi crop, which I also own in white! I must admit, I have never shopped before whilst enjoying a few sneaky cocktails and Simon and I came to realise that this kind of shopping is rather dangerous. Although, leaving the Chapel Street store with our wallets starving, our wardrobes and now full of current, on trend Topshop pieces. Lucky our tipsy eyes still can spot great product!

No more anxiously awaiting the arrival of your parcel of goodies to see if the size and style is right for you, as you can now duck down to Chapel Street in Melbourne (or jet-set, if you are from another state like me), because Topshop has opened its world famous doors in OZ. Last night, Simon and I were flown to Melbourne for the VIP opening of the UK fashion giant. Located in the Jam Factory, where Borders bookstore once called home, the store is bright, eye-catching, and overflowing with hot, on trend pieces. As a confessed addict to Topshop online, I became excited when I came into direct contact with the pieces, in which I have had resting in my 'shopping tote'. With lots of sequins, embellishments, faux fur's and out of control accessories, the product was amazing; even better than what I had expected. Between hitting up the change rooms and giving their credit cards a work out, guests sipped on fruity cocktails, posed for a cheeky snap in the Topshop photo booth and refuelled their shopping energy with gourmet canapés. With Christmas just around the corner, why not stop in and get that fashion conscious family member or friend the ultimate gift? Plus, then you have an excuse to purchase a little Christmas day or New Years eve outfit....or two! Just make sure you have your patience in tack and are in the mood for crowds, because I predict that Aussies and their wallets are going to be going insane in there.

Between scanning through numerous websites, trying to do some Christmas shopping, which might I add, is sort of failing, as I keep finding little gifts for my myself, I am packing for another short voyage to Melbourne tomorrow for the VIP Topshop Australia launch. Yes, that's right guys...Finally the international fashion mega store is coming to OZ! Seeming as though I confess to going a tad crazy in their store whilst in New York City, I am a little nervous as to how I am going to react with it being in our territory. I am super excited to see how their debut Australian store is going to be exhibited and the festivities that will take place at the official store launch tomorrow evening. The image above, was taken on my last trip to Melbourne, for my Rubi shoes collaboration. My photographer, Christopher James was in his element, as he explored little nooks and cranny's around Flinders Lane, to catch a glimpse of the artistic graffiti, in which Melbourne is famous for.

A backless number at the ARIAS

I knew that I wanted to wear a white maxi dress to the ARIA awards, however I had not seen any around that I had really fallen in love with. That was until I met this one! With some help from my designer friend, Thomas Saint-Cyr (take note of that name), he took my hand and led me right to the door of Australian designer, Carla Zampatti, where this gown and I first met. Thomas was well aware of this dress, and was also aware that leading me into its presence was rather dangerous, but hey, I told him I was on the hunt for a beautiful maxi design, so he was just doing his friendly duty. I am a sucker for a backless piece and the textured shoulders, make this bamboo gown perfect. I have had a soft spot for this Sass & Bide necklace for a while now, having the earrings in the rose gold colouring already, however I was trying to refrain myself from purchasing it (trying to be good!) When I was in the store the other day, I was shifting through my wardrobe in my head, working out when I could wear it and the fashion light bulb suddenly went off...With the Carla Zampatti gown! "Sold!"

25th ARIA awards

Today marked the 25th anniversary of the Australian Record Industry Awards, otherwise known as the ARIA's. Media, fans and industry insiders bared Sydney's powerful sun's rays and took to the All Phones Arena, in order to see their favourite artists flaunt the red carpet. Delta Goodrem, Benji and Joel Madden, Missy Higgins, Molly Meldrum, Natalie Bassingthwaighte, Hamish and Andy (just to name a few), paraded the carpet and mingled with screaming fans, before taking to their seats, to view the highly anticipated show. Some of us were deafened by the shuddering screams and giggles of young girls many metres away, when new to the scene, X-factor winner, Reece Mastin jumped out of the limo. This was also the case with comedian superstars, Hamish and Andy. Delta Goodrem was a stand out in the fashion department, back from LA, wearing a custom made Lisa Ho gown. The full length lace and nude design, flowed beautifully as Goodrem strutted her stuff, in this formal, yet sexy number. Another stand out was DJ Havana Brown, dressed head to toe in Balmain. Molly Meldrum added a little spark to the carpet, replacing his faithful pooch, 'Ziggy', with a modern day beat-box; a hand bag, which belted out our Aussie artists tunes (Jess Mauboys, 'Irreplaceable' when we spoke to him!) Of course, the highlight was the attendance of Ms. Kylie Minogue, who instead of a portable stereo bag, had her beau Andres Velencoso on her arm. My 8 year old self would be beside herself right about now, as I did get the chance to meet the tiny superstar. Inducted into the ARIA hall of fame by a sequined dressed Prime Minster, Kylie spoke of the bursts of emotions that she had whilst receiving this spectacular award. Minogue said that their are so many highlights of her career, which turns 25 next year, but 'one would have to be performing at the Olympics' and also back in her Neighbours days, 'the whole cast performing at a footy benefit,' which was the first time she really felt the 'nerves and excitement of performing.' Jet setting into Australia with dark hair, thanks to a movie role, Kylie told us the decision to switch back to her blond locks, was because tonight was about celebrating her career, so she wanted to look 'more like herself.' She said that she had 'dreamt about this moment' since she was a little girl, but thought that she just 'dreamt like the neighbours kids next door." Obviously, she dreamt a little harder! She acknowledged, 'Molly (Meldrum) and Michael, who have been their since the beginning' and whom she considers to be apart of her family. 'I know this sounds silly, but to them, I am still their little girl. They look out for me,' she said. Kylie looked gorgeous and deserved every inch of that golden, triangular trophy, in which she was presented with tonight on their iconic 25th birthday.

Here, is a little outfit post from the RUBI shoes Flinders Lane, Melbourne store and Summer look-book launch, featuring my blog and I. Last Monday, I took my partner in crime, Simon along with me, in order to pick out some pieces to wear to Thursday's event. As you are all aware of by now, I am very fond of Sass&Bide's new collection, so I couldn't go past a little pit stop into there Paddington store. After just a few moments of Simon falling in love with the product and feeling envious that he can not wear the stock, I had my outfit sorted. These 'Forward Thinking' loose fitting, silk pants, which are almost a flare, are seriously so comfortable. It feels as though you are wearing your home- restricted tracksuit pants around; not to mention the colour and style is perfect. Even though they come in other hues, I couldn't go past the vibrant blue colouring, so I teamed it with the 'Forward Thinking', silk singlet to create a fun play suit. The winner of the whole outfit was definitely Sass&Bide's, 'My Favourite Game' Jacket, which features a dramatic gathered Muslim hem, and embroidered graphic prints on the cuffs and shoulders. It is stunning!

Thursday night was such a whirl wind of emotions for me. All bundled together was excitement, nervousness and amazement. When I got back from New York, I had a beautiful email waiting for me in my inbox from the Australian retail giant Rubi Shoes, asking me whether they could send me some of their up and coming Summer product for me to shoot and style in my own creative way. Of course, I jumped at this opportunity, as I am all about supporting Australian brands and I love that RUBI is aimed at your everyday girl, with fashion forward pieces at an affordable price. I pulled some items from their Sister store; Cotton On and took photographer Christopher James and amazing hair stylist Jeremy Pittis from Strobe Salon Sydney, along for the ride to shoot the images. So, I sent the finals off and that was that...Well, so I thought. A month later, I got a call from RUBI saying that they were so impressed by the images, that they wanted to feature them and my blog in their Summer look-book, Australia and Singapore wide! If that wasn't enough, they also had news that their National manager wanted to display them in the window of their new 6 month, boutique store in Flinders lane Melbourne. Thursday night, marked the launch of the Concept store, in which I was flown down to Melbourne for the night to check it out. Must I say that the merchandising of the store is absolutely beautiful. With certain styles of shoe, that aren't available else where, a quirky little lolly bar, spray painted shoes acting as art decors on the walls and endless glasses of summery tequila cocktails; the night was a success. It was such a bizarre feeling, seeing myself representing my blog in the window, it's very hard to explain. I love the little quote, 'Shoes make me happy. I'm superficial. Whatever!"...Judging by the state of my shoe collection at the moment, one could say this is true...!

Sunday marks the 25th anniversary of the ARIA awards and I am extremely excited to be attending this year, not only due to the fact that the awards are such a great part of Australia's music history, but because this year is set to be massive! On Sunday, I will be dashing around the red carpet and backstage, on the hunt to interview some of Australia's top recording artists and industry insiders, including Delta Goodrem, Danni Minogue, Molly Meldrum, Missy Higgins and Kimbra; just for you guys! Even though chatting to these a-listers, will be amazing, my excitement is heightened due to fact that our biggest, little star Kylie Minogue, will be of attendance, as she will be inducted into the ARIA hall of fame. The fact that my childhood was saturated by Kylie's music, videos and concerts, due to my older cousins over-the-top infatuation with her, (I think he owns every bit of memorabilia), makes me not think of a better music magician than her to be honoured on the milestone birthday. In 1988, it was Kylie, dressed in a midnight blue suit jacket, with a floral embroidered collar, who accepted the 'highest selling single' award, thanks to her hit 'Locomotion.' In 2002 the world wide superstar bagged four awards, dressed in a low back, white, Crystal-embellished gown, which boasted an asymmetrical front, as well as being presented with the 'Aria Special Achievement' Award, by Molly Meldrum. In order to be inducted into the ARIA hall of fame, the artist needs to meet the criteria of having, 'a cultural impact within Australia and/or recognition within the world marketplace.' I have had a couple of meetings with ARIA C.E.O Dan Rosen and it is assured that the 25th ARIA anniversary will go down with a bang! They will be on GO on Sunday night from 7:30pm, so tune in.

The Weather in Sydney has been absolutely beautiful as of late, however of course when there is a Summer themed event on, it has to be a miserable, rainy day! Contemplating outfits to wear to the Sunglass Hut floating pop up store tonight was difficult, as I have gotten into the habit already of shedding the Winter layering for the Summer heat. I have been wearing this Sass&Bide 'Define the Future' dress a lot lately, simply because I adore the colour! Normally, I would never opt for a green item, however Sass&Bide have done this hue so damn right! I love the fact that the short front is juxtaposed against the back train, which elegantly flows when you walk. Often, when wearing a maxi skirt, your shoes can go unnoticed, as they are often hidden under the length, however the Leopard print Jeffrey Campbell's create a statement, worn under this Sass&Bide black maxi, as the two splits up the side seams, enable them to be seen.

Have you ever felt like shopping on the water?... Well now you can... Literally on the water! Eye wear giant, Sunglass Hut is the first Australian retailer to produce a pop up floating store, to kick start the Summer season. Tonight, marked the launch of the four day store, at Campbell's Cove wharf on the Sydney Harbour. Forget about looking at four walls whilst shopping, people now have the opportunity to take in the beautiful harbour scenery, whilst searching for the perfect pair of shades from the best well-known fashion brands. Sunglass hut's best sellers are available, as well a 150 piece collection, which are not available anywhere in Australia until February 2012. I have been lusting over the Prada 'Baroque' sunglasses for a while now, and I was thrilled that I finally got to try them on! This was a great thing, yet also bad, as of course this has made my urge to purchase them even stronger! The over-sized round Prada's are inspired by 'Baroques,' which sculpt the temples. Also, available are the amazing glasses from the Dolce&Gabbana's, lace collection. Coming in a number of different styles, from cat eye, to 50's inspired shapes, to classics, each pair has been handcrafted with actual lace inside the frame. Not only were guests filled with excitement with all the exclusive eye wear styles (including new MiuMiu!); the Grammy award winning, Jason Mraz, took to the floating stage, providing the entertainment for the evening. The unfortunate, drizzly Sydney weather, did not stop guests from embracing the Summer spirit, with wait staff dressed in board shorts serving gourmet sausages and frozen cocktails and beach-inspired decor, such as striped deck chairs, umbrellas and a floor covered in sand.... I should of taken note when the invitation strictly said to wear flat shoes....whoops!

NYC'S Hotel Chelsea in Sydney for the night

The days this week all seem to be out of whack for me! Wednesday felt like Sunday, today was like Monday and so on. This has most likely occurred due to my attendance to one of the biggest/private parties of the year; which turned my Tuesday night, into what felt like a Saturday! The host of the event, (I won't disclose who) booked out every room, every foyer and every hidden nook of an entire hotel in Sydney and transformed it into Manhattan's infamous Hotel Chelsea. Guests received a sneaky disposable camera on arrival, as well as a paper wallet, which contained American money to use inside. Keeping with the Hotel Chelsea theme, quirky artworks were displayed through out the venue, as well as images of musicians, who coloured the New York Chelsea's history, as many of them resided there. It some what felt as though you were in a scene from Studio 54; with random rooms consisting of mannequins on beds, a bath full of coloured plastic balls, exotic dancer's figures moving behind a highlighted screen, glow in the dark body paint, wigs in all different styles and heaps more! The beautiful weather made the scenic rooftop the popular 'hang out' place for guests, who were treated to personalised hip flasks and staying true to the American theme; endless mini hotdogs and burgers.

Submerge yourself into a Mexican Fiesta...Well, that is what we did tonight, to launch the new Tequila, el Jimador. The Summer party was thrown at a hip warehouse in Waterloo, where the studio space was revamped into a Mexican lovers dream; with frozen margaritas, quirky decor (including an x-ray aligned on the fridge), skulls, cactus', fairy lights and a self-serve burrito bar (go crazy on the toppings!) Greeted by a male model slouched in a rustic wooden chair, sporting a bold poncho and sombrero, guests knew that they were in for a tequila fun-filled celebration. I am now taking my tired self to bed....Buenas noches!

Yesterday, I opted for a traditional black and white themed attire, for the FAMOUSmagazine Melbourne Cup party. On top I went with this extremely soft leather Shakuhachi tank, along with this Manning Cartell 'Snake Charmer' maxi skirt. The maxi, which boasts a graphic snake print, has 2 splits up the side lining, so when you walk it flows beautifully, allowing you to catch a cheeky glimpse of leg, making it feminine, yet flirty, perfect for the races! I fell in love with the skirt, whilst 'window shopping' in Paddington last week. Catching a glimpse of it in the shopfront, the term 'just window shopping,' could no longer be used! I also have to give a shout out to the wonderful shop assistant that was working on the day, who wrote me a little birthday card and had it positioned amongst the wrapping with my purchase. A Bonus for choosing a black and white colour scheme is 1. Well, the trend will never go out of style and 2. It's so easy to accessorise against, as there are so many options to utilize the theme. I included a hint of colour, with this Sportsgirl mint clutch, along with matching nails, to give it a bold touch!

Sydney's Iconic Piano Room today was taken over by hats, heels and horses (horses on the big screen that is...), as FAMOUS weekly magazine hosted the Melbourne Cup party. A fashionable crowd gathered to watch the race that stops the nation, whilst sipping on summery cocktails, indulging on gourmet canapes and sneaking off to get a cheeky snapshot in the FAMOUS photo booth (perfect racing props included!) The booth was definitely a highlight of my day....That and backing the winner in the Cup!

The weather for my Birthday on Monday, was one of the hottest days this Sydney Spring has seen so far. I think it reached 34 degrees at one stage, so we couldn't go past soaking up some sun at Bondi Beach. If you are like me and seem to always be wearing heels, the JC 'Ad long' flatforms are the perfect answer for days likes these, where our beloved heels are just not an option! On Saturday I had a manicure at USA nail spa in Paddington and I am trying desperately hard to remember the brand and the shade of this nail polish! I actually had another colour picked out, but was sold on this one, when a lady came in with this hue on her toes. The colour is so bright and eye catching, but not to the point of being OTT. Following our day in the Sun, a group of friends and I headed to Zushi Japanese restaurant for my birthday dinner, followed by a few cheeky drinks at the Winery next door on Crown St. Also, check out my new Sass and Bide grape coloured bag, which was a birthday gift from some of my beautiful friends! The weekend that literally flew by, was filled with my 21st birthday celebrations. On Saturday night, I celebrated in style at the new Sydney 'It' venue, TwentyOne. If you are a Sydney-Sider or just visiting, make sure you hit up the New York inspired bar/club in Potts Point, as it is the place to be! I couldn't go past Sass and Bide's new collection for the ultimate 21st outfit. Their current pieces boast plaited silk, woven belts, tie dyes and real electric shades of coral, magenta, fuschia, cobalt blue and fluoro yellow. I combined their solid grape 'From a Distance' skirt, (a straight maxi with side splits,) with their rich coral jacket, which holds a hint of sequin embellishment up top, then drops into a semi-sheer silk body.

Today, was spent putting together a shoot for a collaboration with Rubi Shoes/CottonOn, for their up and coming Summer lookbook. After my hair was prepped by the very talented Jeremy Pittis, at the wonderful Strobe hair & makeup salon in Woollahra, Photographer Christopher James and I set out to shoot around Sydney's beautiful Botanical Gardens. We were blessed with such amazing weather. Summer definatley is in the air. The blue skies, made me opt to wear this pop orange Zara silk dress. I wouldn't call it a maxi... It's more like a Midi cross between a Kimono, with 2 slits that cut up the side. Teamed up with my Sportsgirl, colour splashed wedges; this outfit screams Summer comfort.

Above, is a shoot Rory Rice (hair & makeup), Christopher James (Photographer) and I put together, a few months back. I remember it was an absolutely freezing Winter's day and I had to control myself from shivering outside, in Australian designer Jamie Lee's Latex pieces. This shoot was aimed to be mysteriously beautiful, yet haunting. We borrowed pieces designed by Jamie Lee, whom was a stand out at RAFW earlier this year, with her SS11/12 collection 'Pollination'. She collaborated with L.A based designer, Abigail Greydanus, who regularly designs for Katy Perry, to produce the honey comb printed latex pieces (seen above.) Lee's designs are heavily embellished and textural, boasting digital prints, sequins, beads, lace and swarovski crystals. Oh and I almost forgot, how amazing are the honey dripping resin shoes, which actually have deceased bees inside of them.....

It's been more like 4 seasons in the one day; but the sun was shining this morning, so I decided to bare my legs and wear my new Sportsgirl stripe tube skirt. Last night, ZUshoes brand ambassador Erin McNaught launched her shoe range, 'Naughty4Zu.' This Summer range reflects Erin's own personal style and her beach side lifestyle; with bold prints, summery colours, beautiful fabrics, as well as metal embellishments. She describes the range as fun, edgy and sexy. My personal favourite was the striped two tone wedge (image 4), which Erin told me almost didn't go into production, but she insisted as it is too one of her favourites. Today, whilst still playing tour guide, I wore my new Zimmerman silk blazer. I love the loose fit and the versatility, however it was defiantly the citrus colouring that did it for me. There is a whole heap of panelling, cut-outs and unique geometric and floral prints, which will really catch your eye. Im just a down to earth girl who is chasing her dream and hope that I can inspire those to do the same. I am a Sydney based blogger who only started allaboutedie, this year around March. I am overwhelmed by the response I have received and I love that fact that people source inspiration from it. I have always had a big love for fashion and creativity. SS: In ten words or less what is your personal style?I love throwing pieces together and experimenting. My style is sort of effortless/chic. I am very aware of trends and styles, but at the end of the day you are either born with a sense of style or you’re not and it just comes naturally to you. I just get up in the morning and ask myself what do I feel like wearing today and how do I want to put it together.

On my last night in New York, I was fortunate enough to be invited to one of the biggest parties of the fashion week. Celebrities and fashion's finest gathered at the Skylight West Studios, to celebrate Mulberry's 40th birthday. Kasabian rocked the rooftop, drawing fashion week front-rowers; Alexander Skarsgard, Rose Bryne, Solange Knowles, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Alexa Chung, Anna Dello Russo and Michelle Trachtenberg (just to name a few.) We got to sip on margaritas, while a balloon artist made us animal shape balloons and hats. I wore this Zara funnel collared white dress and paired it with this Topshop chain & tube necklace. I went a bit crazy in Mac cosmetics and its unlike me to sport a coloured lip, but I thought this 'Morange' colour made the whole outfit come together. It was such a wonderful way to top off our fantastic week in New York City....I am already planning our next trip back!

Immediately when I came in contact with this Viktoria + Woods blazer, it was embedded into my mental must have list! The fresh lime green colouring automatically jumps out at you, it is perfect to add that dash of something extra to an outfit. I paired it with Mister Zimi leather shorts and a Shakuhachi crop to dash around the city, jumping in and out of yellow cabs to attend meetings, a model fitting and a lovely Japanese dinner.

Fashionista's are forgetting about cabs, as New York fashion week have bicycles available to hire, which have been customized by the cities top designers. 'Tour de Fashion' boasts thirty bikes, designed by Diane Von Furstenberg, Betsey Johnston, Nicole Miller and Stephen Burrowe, (just to name a few.) It was seriously so hot in the city and I was glad I made the choice to throw my hair up in a top bun, as this weather does nothing for it. The other day I had my first Topshop in experience and I must admit I did go a little crazy in the accessories section, stocking up on a whole heap of rings. I had a pile to sort through this morning, in order to work out which ones to wear. Doing a little sight seeing and roaming around the Chelsea markets, I wore these Jemma boots by Dolce Vita. I love the leopard print suede upper lining. We finished our day above the city, in the Empire State Building. I am a sucker for lights, the view was so pretty.

Today, the clouds broke and we got to experience a beautiful blue sky here in the concrete jungle. This morning we made our way down to the Village, where we perused through the Marc Jacobs bookstore called; BookMarc. I was in my absolute element, as it is stacked with such inspiring coffee table books, which boast fashion, art, music and pop icons. There are also such quirky little Marc Jacobs accessories, such as pencils, key rings, laptop covers, notebooks and condoms. Across the lane, stands the Magnolia Bakery, which is famous for not only its mouth watering cupcakes, but a Sex and the City scene which was filmed there. After a New York moment sat on the brown stones steps, with coffee in one hand and Marc Jacobs in the other, we jumped in a cab and made our way to Central Park. This is where Christopher let it be known of his strange obsession with Squirrels, he was like a little kid in a candy store! Our time here today was only brief, as we had to get back to the apartment to organise ourselves for New York's Fashion Night Out. The city was on fashion fire tonight, with events taking place at almost every store. Soho was especially alive; there were people everywhere, models in windows, celebrity appearances and DJ's spinning tracks. Alexa Chung was DJing at Stella McCartney, the editor of Vogue Japan was at Macy's, Coco Rocha was at Topshop and Dakota Fanning was at Marc Jacobs; just to name a few.

I was very excited to take my first steps out into the big city in the daylight, and there wasn't a better way to do it, than stepping out onto the sidewalk in my new Gee Wa Wa shoes, which were at my hotel when I arrived from the amazing site; solestruck. As you read below, my day was full on, and I walked a whole 9 hours in these babies and they didn't hurt one bit. The weather has been wet and rainy, but still rather humid, so I wore this perfect outfit by Shakuhachi. I am loving the marble colouring in there new collection, so I thought why not match the marble culottes with the linen, swing blazer. I was amazed by how many compliments I received on my outfit today from New Yorkers. All sorts of admiration was given to these Shakuhachi pieces; from passers by on the street, to a retail worker at Bloomingdale's writing down there website for herself and her friends. I still can not believe I am in an apartment in New York city. It's so surreal....

Day two in the Big Apple and it seriously is the City that never sleeps! Everybody is always about. It is 3am here now and we just nicked outside and people are still out eating dinner and exploring. Today, was all about venturing through the Iconic streets of Manhattan and still coming to terms with the fact that we are in a whole other country. The sidewalks are always buzzing; with hot dog stands on every corner, the soulful rhythm of the saxophonist standing by the Subway, to the friendly natives pointing the confused, map-reading tourists in the right direction. 9 hours were spent strolling around Soho, experiencing the famous American shopping; including our first introduction to stores such as; TopShop, H&M, Forever21, Victoria Secret, Bloomingdale's etc. After a jam-packed day, we caught up with another Australian friend of ours who is here; Emily for a cute little Japanese Dinner. By far the highlight of mine and Christopher's day, was falling upon the Infamous Hotel Chelsea. The reason it was so important for us to see this brown brick building, was of course because Edie Sedgewick once called it home. (It was the apartment she accidentally set fire too) Standing out the front, we pictured her strutting around 23rd street and pushing through the lobby doors, in her Chandelier earrings and over-sized fur, with a smoke in her hand. Its hard to describe the feeling standing there, it was rather haunting but beautiful.

Its currently 2am here in New York and Christopher and I are snuggled up in our apartment watching the latest series of The Rachel Zoe Project. Well, the 16 hour flight to LA killed us; we were super bored and going a bit delirious from our sleeping tablets, but all is good now because we are here and the city has blown us away already. After stepping out of our yellow cab and onto the concrete sidewalk, we quickly checked into our hotel and were off to explore Times Square. I just can not explain the feeling and atmosphere here, it is completely electrifying, the lights are magnetic, the people are friendly and there is nothing you can do without getting some sort of 'dejavu' from a movie or a TV show you have seen. Christopher was eager to experience to taste the American version of McDonald's, as the big golden arches are on almost every block, as too a Starbucks (perfect for me!) So, we are staying on Seventh Avenue, which is also named Fashion Avenue.....Ironic right?

Well, its hard to believe but its 1 more sleep until I will be heading off to the city that never sleeps! Well, its actually 2 sleeps, as I leave on Tuesday morning, however Christopher and I have made a pact to not shut our eyes tomorrow night, so that we can do that on the 15 hour flight to LA, then on the 6 to NY. I must admit, I am a tad nervous as this will be my first time overseas! Yep, that's right, I have never been outside Australia! I have asked my good friend Zoe to come over tomorrow and help me pack, as I have no idea how to pack for overseas travel and I am pretty hopeless at packing in general (I always take way too much!) Everyone has told me, to go with an almost empty suitcase, so that I can fill it up over there. My word I will be filling it up, but it does make me anxious not being able to take my 'whole' wardrobe with me. Google is currently my best friend, as I have spent the majority of my limited spare time, googling the best hot spots around Manhattan to visit, including the addresses of where Andy Warhol and Edie Sedgewick once were. Yes, I am venturing over there for New York Fashion Week, but that doesn't mean I can't do my sightseeing and of course shopping too!
