Autumn Racewear

Below is my article published on Urban Society and Above are my Autumn racewear picks; all available from The Iconic online now

The clouds may be rolling in and the air getting chilly, but that doesn’t mean you’re Autumn/Winter trackside style should be affected. If anything, I much prefer the autumn racing fashion, as it gives you the freedom to experiment with layering and trailing cool and modern trends. When you think of this time of year, leave the over exposing dresses (plus the fake tan) behind and opt for jumpsuits, knee length pencil skirts, peplum style tops and long sleeved shift dresses, with a structured blazer or (faux) fur vest thrown over your shoulder to battle the cold. If it was up to me, a day at the races this season would include a structured wide legged pant suit, with a darker hued top hat. Previous runway shows, have seen the elegant lady-like style of dressing make a comeback, with gloves and knee length hemlines. You could stick to monochrome shades or go for a pop of bright colour or a graphic print, to brighten up the day. When it comes to shoes, I think a closed toe is the best option, however just remember to only wear heels that are well worn in and that you can actually walk in, as there is nothing worse than witnessing girls that have had a few too many champas, stumbling bare foot through the green with heels in hand. This just ruins the overall chic and sophisticated look that you settle on for the racing carnival.
