'Tough Love'
Balmain's show at Paris fashion week is making me want to scream the word 'love.' Forget the fact that designer Christophe Decarnin was absent due to reports that he is in hospital due to exhaustion... (After creating this collection, who wouldn't be!) and look at this tough-but-chic collection. Broad shouldered silhouettes, white leather, slash-front jumpsuits, metallic’s and sharp tailored pieces rocked the runway at the A/W show. Garments were literally shining with the use of broken tiny shards of mirror assembled to minidresses, structured blazers and pants. Skin bearing tuxes made Masculinity sexy in the collection, with the colour palette consisting of blacks, golds, silver, white and pale blue. Also on show was a new trouser, cropped and cuffed at the mid calf and worn with chunky leather lace up boots. I’ll be keeping my eye out for celebrities sporting these glitzy party dresses!
