RAFW; Weekly Outfit Recap

Okay so you may think that fashion week is all about watching the trends of the talented designers strut down the runway, and on one hand you are correct, however on the other it does seem to be about the trends that are occurring off the runway too. Tons of fashionistas flocked to the Overseas Passenger Terminal in Sydney to attend RAFW this week. In between shows and viewings of collections, trend setters gathered around the cafes', or soaked up some of the sun on benches around Circular Key, which in turn acted as its own kind of fashion show. I was transfixed by the different types of outfits puts together in such creative ways. Every where my eyes glanced they were drawn to particular items, which  feed my inspiration. Colour blocking was a big part of RAFW, on runway and off. Neon brights were hard to miss and worn in all different forms; from a fire engine red tunic dress, orange stockings, a lime green clutch, fuschia lips, and a royal blue blazer, all played apart in the unofficial street catwalk. Models off duty went for a more masculine approach. Think 'Almost Famous' meets 'The Craft' and you get some sort of idea of the style that they were sporting. Glancing through 'John Lennon' style shades, a voluminous thick fur coat hung over a long solid black maxi dress, with 80's denier tights slipped into vintage ankle pixie boots, grasping a tasseled bag, with a hand full of skull and cross rings, was an example of the style. Outfit planning prior to the big week is essential, as of course you can never repeat at fashion week, never! It is a fashion common sense that you would never sport the same outfit twice in the week, because where's the fun in that? (Note. You can wear the same pieces twice but never the same way!) Fashion week is all about putting your inner stylist on show to everyone who is anyone in (the Australian) fashion industry. From this week of being mesmerized by so many different styles and trends, I have so such inspiration for up and coming outfits. You could say that I have been like a Polaroid camera, as my mind has been capturing the image of the inspirational outfits, then I will take from this image and produce it with my own personal style.

  5. Thankyou for the comments guys! I really appreciate the time you spend reading my blog. Okay so I either get my vintage from stores and markets around Sydney, however the leather pants are from the Sportsgirl vintage section. They source their vintage pieces from a market in America and you can find some really cool things there! You just have to be quick and on the ball! Xx
Also I would be honored to shoot a lookbook for you! Is there anyway we could arrange something? Xx
