Wednesday evening topped off a beautiful fun-filled birthday, attending the Diane Von Furstenberg S/S 2013 collection runway show. The exclusive event was held at Sydney’s Sky Lobby, where I was treated to a front row glimpse of her polished gypsy collection, titled Palazzo. Dressed in a sleek DVF metallic black oversized pantsuit, I watched on as models graced the catwalk in billowing silk kaftans, printed jumpsuits, tailored crepe jackets, A-Line tunics, hemlines embellished with silver baubles and of course breezy palazzo pants. Bold colour combinations, stylish details and feminine gowns in shades of lime, blue and tangerine caught my attention. Accessories included colour blocked bags, oversized hoop earrings, killer platforms and high-tech specs by Google Glass. What a wonderful birthday present it was being able to be in the presence of the woman of fashion herself, Diane Von Furstenberg! I felt like I was swept away to an exotic destination, which the collection was inspired from.
